At the end of 2024, Batrica’s work has been rewarded once again! End of 2024, Batrica applied to take part in the Hauts-de-France 2024 Innovative Companies Awards. We were chosen as the winner in the ‘Business Model’ category. 🏆
This year, our project took shape and became a real solution. We first launched phase 1, in October 2023, which involved installing 10 offgrid stations, each equipped with 300 batteries. These 10 stations enabled us to have 40 agents on the ground, creating several dozen jobs. In November 2024, phase 2 was launched. This will end in January. During phase 2, 15 additional stations will be installed. We will then have around a hundred agents and 7,500 batteries available for hire in various towns in Chad. 💡
We are already looking for funding to start phase 3 in 2025.
The reward given by the Hauts-de-France region allow us to nicely end this year. It was a real pleasure to compete with the other 192 companies, all of which promoting wonderful projects. Finishing among the 28 nominees and then the 10 Laureates is both an honour and a source of motivation. This award reminds us every day how meaningful our project is.
This reward was given to us on December 6. It is proof of our commitment to innovate and provide sustainable and inclusive solutions for energy access. Energy is a vital human need and everyone should have access to it.
Unfortunately, Chad’s energy needs are growing, but electric production is not.
Batrica, was given a cheque worth €2,000. This cheque, given to each winner in its category, is a financial reward from the region to support the winners’ innovations.
We also received an “expertise chequebook” that allows us to benefit from expert advice, but also from funding opportunities. This award allows us to further develop our solution.
We would like to warmly thank the Hauts-de-France region and the HDFID for their support and this recognition of our work.
